Top Coordinating Pairs of the Season

Dallas, Texas might not come to mind when you’re thinking of the world’s most fashionable cities, but think again. My adopted home served as the inspiration for this post, part of my weekly column, “Bag Chat with Tina” on the Vogue China Vogue Mini app. It’s also become trendiest location for fashion brands like Chanel, where Karl hosted his extravagant Chanel-Dallas show a few seasons back. And what’s not to love? The Lone Star State has produced some of greatest designers of our time, including homegrown Texan Tom Ford.

So I wasn’t too surprised that going on location on an authentic Texas work ranch made for the most fun shoot I’ve styled and art directed to date. There were four old work horses and a donkey – one of whom tried to eat the Chanel bag! As you can see, current trends are also reflecting a vast Wild, Wild West influence. From fringes to saddle shapes and cowboy medallions, here are the best bags to ride off into the sunset with (cowboy not included).

Chanel Quilted Saddle Bag:Top 5 Wildly Western Bags Karl’s ongoing fascination with Americana is particularly apparent in this bag. It literally resembles a saddle. I love the combination of classic Chanel details, like quilting and a chain strap, juxtaposed with engraved-medallion hardware and a few loose fringes. You’re ready to ride ‘em, cowgirl! Look for styles like it on Fashionphile.
The runways proved that matching your bag to your ready-to-wear is the way to go for the Spring ’16 season, but I say, why wait until then? I’ve already hopped on the matchy-matchy bandwagon, and I’m having a blast showing total dedication to a motif, from cheeky lipstick bullets to saucy spots to layers of embroidery and lace. Which matchup’s your favorite? Pick it, and don’t hesitate to go all the way. And don’t forget to download Vogue China Mini app to keep up with my weekly column, “BagChat with Tina,” for more inspiration!

Saint Laurent Monogram Lipstick-Print Leather Pouch and Printed Silk Crepe de Chine Shirticon: Give them more than just a little lip! I’m loving Saint Laurent’s lipstick-print everything, especially with loosely flared Céline pants (and my vaguely S&M-inspired Eddie Borgo collar). This is one of the most fun and exuberant prints of the season.
